Ethics consulting

In the coming decades, technologists will demand deep trust from the public; trust we’ve yet to earn. It’s time our field took ethics seriously. Hire me for an ethical design sprint, an intensive, turbocharged week applying innovative ethical design techniques – drawing on speculative design, futurism, and contemporary practical ethics – to your real business challenges. Or take my new workshop Practical Ethics for Tech Teams to learn key ideas in a single day.

In-house teams and conference organisers rely on me to instruct and inspire their audiences. I’m a veteran public speaker, combining an articulate style with hands-on experience earned working with leading technology companies. My keynote talks typically discuss the urgent intersection between design, technology, ethics, and the future.

I offer hands-on digital product design – including UX design, information architecture, interaction design, visual design, prototyping, and motion design – focusing on privacy & user safety, and informed by my ethical principles. If you need a highly senior, versatile, and reliable designer able to hit aggressive goals with little supervision, I might be a good fit.

New book: Future Ethics

‘An eloquent, insightful and utterly readable guide to thinking about the complicated mess we have made for ourselves. A must read for anyone who is inventing the future or cares about living in it.’
